A Romance in Slime

Just a little bit of sillyness in the form of a slime-critter love story. Enjoy!

Blood Curse of the Vampire Mummies!

I worked on a pin-up for a new comic book being published by Viper this year, Wonderdog, Inc, which is illustrated by my very talented buddy, Matt Hebb! It's an action-adventure book, and the pin-up illustrators were asked to come up with scenes that could potentially happen with their cast of characters. And what better way to show off their snazzy cast than with... vampire mummies!!

"But, Heather...! How can there be vampire mummies? Doesn't that, like... not make any sense?"

Oh-HO non-believer...! I've got that covered - they were Egyptian vampires that were THEN mummified in an attempt to destroy their blood-sucking clan. (BOOYAH!)

... If you want the full wacky story then feel free to email me. :) And make sure to look out for Viper's Wonderdog, Inc., debuting at this year's Comic Con!
(Matt - I'll take my check now, thanks. :D)

My Little Place in Space

So what wacky, fun adventure was I up to this weekend? Creating model packets! Woot!! Yes, I so rock.

This is yet another idea that's been in my head for a while now but I finally got around to putting it down in doodle-form. I'm just a bit so-so about the inspirational illustration, but I like the elements of the piece. I'll probably have another go at it and include some spiffy digital paiting as well. So this will definitely be revisited! :)

But for now, enjoy! And shoot me an email if you want a Moon Gnome, I have too many parked in my yard as of right now.

The Princess & The Pea

While I work on updating my website, I'll post a little preview of what's to come, right here, on my blog! It'll be just like a theatrical trailer - you'll see all of the good parts, pretty much know the whole story within 3 minutes, and save $10.

... Only here it'll probably take you a minute, and you see the whole project now and then again later in lover-ly website portfolio form. Huzzah! And it's free either way, which is always shhhweet.

This is a sequence from a version of 'The Princess & The Pea' that's been rattling around in my head for about a year. I put these boards together about 2 weeks ago, spending one Saturday writing out the story and preliminary boards, and then drew the actual boards the following morning. And err... then I partied! And did super cool stuff cuz I'm wicked awesome! (Phew, that was a close one...)

[Note: yes, the bird joke is totally out there. I'm trying to think of something better and less bizarre to replace it with in the meantime... I apologize for the excess wackiness.]

storyboardin' monster

*brushes dust off of blog* Okay, let's try this again...!

Instead of hording all of my silly doodles and drawings for myself, I'm going to try to be nice now and share them with the world. Or, the 3 people who happen to read this. Both are good!

This is a lil' illustration I did for the cover of my latest storyboard portfolio. He's Glorp, the storyboarding monster. Apparently he likes to draw scenes about other monsters, and seeing how I love monsters, I really can't blame him.

More silliness and doodles to come, but for now - enjoy! :)

first posty-post!

Hooray for posting! I set up this blog a while back to post sketches on, and as you can see I've been so utilizing it to it's fullest potential. ... *tumble weed rolls by* Anyhoo, it's 2006 and time to start posting!

I drew a little critter today while I was sketching my blob of a cat. This isn't my cat obviously, but he is just as fluffy. His name is Vleeb and I want to make more of his little species. He's definitely not a finished design or anything, but just some exploration. I'll post more of Vleeb and whatever else I jot down and don't comdemn to the trash can soon. Enjoy!
